“Dysphoria”
‘UÄÄH’, Fylkingen, Stockholm, 2023.
Dysphoria is an audiovisual piece that explores gender dysphoria, bodily longing, internal dissonance, and the desire to return – or to become. The work is structured around an intermix of forward and reversed recordings in both sound and image, creating a fragmented temporal space that challenges the cognitive perception of the self.
Sound and image operate in a state of dissolution and reconstruction, with manipulated textures that shift between fragility and intensity. The visual landscape is minimal yet charged, centering on the body as a site of transformation – at times veiled, at times exposed.
